Surviving Another Night

Alhamdulillah… Ammar is half a year old today. He’s very active and noisy especially when it comes to sleep and bath time, like he’s trying to tell me, “Ma - I need to sleep” “Ma - I need a bath” by making a really long “aaaaaaaa” sounds.

Developmental Milestones

Ammar at 6 months can:

1. reaches for object accurately
2. enjoys peek-a-boo game

This is by far the longest wait for me as a first time mom. Macam dah tak sabar2 dah nak Ammar cecah 6 bulan. Why? Coz I just can’t wait to feed himsolids! I’ve been meaning to start his solids at a later age, like 7 or 8 months but his weight has been static at 7kg since 4 1/2 months, so I kinda worry a little. Some moms feed their baby solids at 4 months, but I’ll stick to 6 months as recommended by paed.

My mom taught me how to make baby porridge. Nasi masak dengan air yang banyak - kemudian campur dengan ikan bilis dan bayam (sebab ia tak pahit) yang dah diblender dan buh garam sikit. Bayam had to be changed with carrot due to storage problem (bayam kalau simpan dalam fridge lebih sehari dah layu, but not carrots!) But, because I am sooo RAJIN, I put all the ingredients in the pot! Of course the carrot pieces and anchovies is added a little later to preserve it’s nutrient. Then, when everything is cooked, into the blender they go!

I was this close to buying a baby blender, tapi sebab tak nak membazir disaat2 sukar ni, I just use the existing blender. Luckily ada extra blender body, kalau tak anakku makan bubur pedas bekas blender cili!

Anyway, feeding him solid food was fun! I’m looking forward to making another porridge for Ammar. Do u have any other recipe for us to try?

Boleh aku ingat hari ni harijadi hubs? Esokla makcik oiii!!! Siap pagi2 tadi aku ucap Happy Birthday gitu. Hubby pun layann aje aku wish dia. Haha.

Sebenarnya, seminggu dua ni aku weng tak ingat hari apa, berapa haribulan. Al-maklumlah, duduk di rumah saja. Tak ada due date apa. Taubat aku malu dengan hubs.

Kerja aku sambil2 melayan Ammar adalah curi-curi tengok That 70’s Show. Pecah perot gelak. Tengoklah, by the 8th season nanti perut aku mungkin dah kempis, sebab pecah.

Punya kelakar, sampai Nacho Libre pun jadik 1/10 aja.

Tapi lah, scene terbang ni aku tak boleh tahan dah, gelak guling-guling. Jauh terbangnya tu Nacho! Ammar Izzudin Wafiy tengok aku konfius aje. Apekehenya mama ni?

So, petang aku masak kaw-kaw punya, hubby sambut ‘besday’ kan (besday awal sehari). 3 lauk satu sayur. Yummm. Tengah aku masak tu, ada melibatkan TEMPE - ubat awet muda yang Khir Toyo guna tuh, aku perasan tempe sekarang ni makin halus/nipis. Jari aku tebal lagi.

SKII murahan. Sila amalkan.

Poor hubs, birthday boy had to buy his own birthday cake. Kelakar pulak kek birthday boleh campur2 gini. Tapi aku suka la banyak2 jenis camni, rasa pun pelbagai. Yummm

Developmental Milestones

At 5 months, Ammar can:

1. Bear weight on legs
2. Rolls onto front
3. Grabs objects
4. Plays with feet - we noticed it yesterday!
5. Turns to sounds across the room
6. Makes long and short sounds
7. Gurgles and laughs

Ammar trying hard to turn, 3 days ago. Actually he turned at 3 months ++ but he kinda forgot about it, and now he’s trying again. The next day, he turned effortlessly. He even turned front to back today. Way to go, my boy!

Setiap 18 hari bulan, I promise myself untuk buatkan dia entry bergambar special, siap dengan bulan dekat gambar tu. Sangat rugilah, masa 1 bulan hari tu aku boleh lupa. Satu gambar pun tak tangkap hari tu. So, here goes…

Whew!

Adalah satu cabaran tau nak siapkan dia elok2 gini dan tangkap gambar . Tak macam dulu, diam aje tengok kita buat kerja. Sekarang, pada usia 4 bulan, dia sangat aktif, kalau mandi tu ambik masa lamaaaa sangat. Adela dekat sejam. Buka baju aje 15 minit. Dengan tangan2 dan kaki semua menerawang, siap pegang baju dia kuat2 macam tak kasi kita tanggalkan. Tendangan tak usah cakaplah, penat sungguh bila sesi mandi ni.

Time mandi, habis basah lantai2. Kaki sepak2 air. Isap jari pulak. Nak gosok cecelah leher amatlah sukar kalau dah terkepit2 macam tu. Setengah jam untuk mandi aje. Tak masuk lap badan, urut, bedak, pakai pampers, pakai baju.

But it is fun watching him grow.
